The Transfiguration of Admirals Cove
Located in Jupiter, Florida, Admirals Cove’s Marina at the Club offers quick and easy access to the Intracoastal Waterway and is considered one of the most weather-safe facilities in the state. After many years of well-serving its residents and members, the marina was showing its age. The basin served as a hurricane refuge for Palm Beach yachts and survived the wind and waves from several hits, but the battered docks were deteriorating and in need of repair.
Searching for a solution, the board was finding that its older docks and slips could also no longer accommodate today’s mega yachts that were coming in at 80 to 100 feet. So, the question was—repair or rebuild? It was a pretty easy decision, but it wasn’t an easy fix—it was time for a major change.
Marina construction companies were called in for their advice and expertise. It was decided that the marina would be demolished and rebuilt for today’s larger-sized yachts and with an eye to the future. Technomarine, the global leader in marine redevelopment and construction was brought on board.
“It was Technomarine’s comprehensive planning and design, engineering knowledge and quality products that gave us the confidence to move ahead,” says John Herring, General Manager of Admirals Cove. “It was a no-brainer. Their team knew exactly what we needed and had the know-how to do it.”
With over five miles of secluded waterway and home to over a dozen resident yachts of 100 feet or more, Admirals Cove’s newly-completed marina now features over 500 private docks and 74 slips accommodating yachts up to 130 feet. Boaters can now enjoy the floating fuel dock and pump out facilities, plus grab some food and gear at the ship store, along with a bottle of wine, or two.
The transformation to a brand new, reconfigured Admirals Cove wouldn’t just be for function and appearance—for some, it would be glorious. With Technomarine, the redevelopment was a perfect fit. Fit for an Admirals Cove, that is.
